This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual with a genuine passion for fresh food, exceptional service, and high retail standards. The Fresh Food & Retail Operations Executive will support the Donnybrook Fair store network in delivering outstanding fresh food experiences, strong commercial performance, and consistent brand standards.
Working closely with Store Managers, fresh food teams, and central functions, this role helps drive sales, improve operational performance, and maintain excellence across fresh departments. The successful candidate will play a key supporting role in the Donnybrook Fair turnaround plan, contributing to improved store performance through people, standards, and day‑to‑day operational execution.

What you’ll be doing:
This role is ideal for someone early in their retail leadership career who is eager to grow, influence, and make a meaningful impact across multiple stores.
Area of Responsibility: Fresh Food Support & Brand Standards
- Support Store Managers and fresh food teams in delivering excellent product presentation, availability, and service.
- Assist with implementing fresh food initiatives, seasonal campaigns, and brand programmes.
- Conduct regular store visits to observe standards, provide feedback, and support training.
- Help new and revamped stores achieve best‑in‑class fresh food standards.
- Responsibility for auditing of stores including CX and Shrink audits.
Area of Responsibility: Sales Support & Commercial Execution
- Support stores in achieving sales targets through strong execution of commercial plans.
- Assist Store Managers in developing local store plans to drive footfall and customer spend.
- Review sales trends with stores and help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work with local marketing to ensure store‑level plans resonate with customers.
- Encourage stores to gather and act on customer feedback.
Area of Responsibility: Operational Performance & Cost Control
- Support Store Managers in understanding, managing and achieving key operational metrics such as waste, shrink, RTC, and labour.
- Support stores to drive and unlock opportunities to improve efficiencies in stores.
- Help stores implement best practice processes to reduce waste and improve margin.
- Assist with monitoring store performance against budgets and KPIs.
- Promote a culture of compliance with waste and shrink procedures.
Area of Responsibility: Retail Excellence & Compliance
- Support the delivery of best‑in‑class retail standards across all stores.
- Assist with store audits, ensuring compliance with HACCP, food safety, pricing, and health & safety.
- Help stores prepare for Mystery Shop visits and improve results.
- Ensure operational training is completed to the required standard.
- Ability to create and implement SOPs as required with relevant stakeholders.
Area of Responsibility: People Development & Team Support
- Support Store Managers in developing their teams, identifying training needs, and building capability.
- Assist with succession planning by helping identify high‑potential colleagues.
- Participate in recruitment for key store roles when required.
- Support performance review processes by helping gather data and track KPIs.
- Comfortable to challenge teams and ways of working when necessary.
