Kealy Construction hare currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Officer working across a number of sites in the Dublin/Meath region.
- Responsible for the management of Health & Safety on site
- Lead safety inductions and tool box talks with all site staff
- Proper reporting of accidents, incidents and near misses in an accurate and timely fashion and assist with investigations in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Conduct site safety inspections, audits and risk assessments as required and ensure that management personnel put appropriate action plans in place.
- Conduct regular reviews on corrective actions arising from incidents, inspections and audits.
- To ensure QEHS policies and procedures are fully implemented and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
- Assist with the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure that QEHS lessons learnt and other initiatives are properly communicated.
- Provide a proactive approach to problem solving and to the various aspects of day-to-day health, safety and environmental management.
- Preparation of Job Specific Safety Plans
- Preparation of Method Statements
- Preparation of Risk Assessments
- Compilation of Safety Files
- Control of First Aid Stocks
- Control of relevant Inspections: Teleporter, Harnesses, Fire Extinguishers etc
- Attendance at meetings as Safety Representative where required
- Other adhoc duties as required by the business
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- Recognised safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, within the construction industry.
- Good knowledge of construction activities and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- IT literate – proficient in MS Excel and Word.
- Highly developed organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and site staff.
- Confidential in all matters.
- Full clean drivers licence
