Maynooth Student Bar is a fast paced service enviroment. The hours are 8am-4pm Monday to Thursday & 8am-3pm on Fridays. We can offer flexibility on this depending on circumstances
Main tasks for a Deli Assistant
Deli/Hot Counter
· Ensure all dishes are made and served to required standard
· Check Quality, Quantity in line with guidelines
· Liase with Kitchen staff to what is required for counters
Health, Safety, Hygiene and Fire Awareness
· Maintain areas to required standards
· Ensure all deli/hot counter equipment is maintained in a hygienic and safe condition
· Ensure all aisles are clear of spillages, refuse etc
· Make Chef/Manager aware of any issues
Product Knowledge
· Ensure all food is maintained at correct temperature for service
· Ensure all equipment is maintained in correct working order
· Ensure knowledge of correct sizes for products
· Ensure knowledge of correct grades for products
· Attend any training course as may be required
· Be aware of menu available (including specials) at all times
Stock Control
· Ensure all stocks are rotated correctly according to company policy
· Ensure correct stock levels are maintained according to company policy
· Ensure all deliveries are checked off accurately
Receiving Food
· Ensure preparation for delivery of goods
· Ensure that documentation is prepared and checked
· On arrival inspect goods for quality, quantity and correct size. Check dates where appropriate
· Ensure that returns are noted on documentation
· Ensure that faults / breakages are reported
· Ensure that documentation is sent on to the correct departments
· Ensure that changes to orders are notified to appropriate personnel
Storing Food
· Ensure that all items are stored correctly in an orderly manner
· Ensure that products are held at optimum conditions
· Ensure that products are held for as short a period as possible
· Ensure that all stock is rotated using First In First out process
