- To work as part of a team of Health Care Assistants, under the direction of the Nursing team.
- To provide quality person-centred care to meet the needs of residents.
- To provide high standard services as specified in agreed care plans and to contribute to the continual review of resident’s needs.
- Ensures residents hygiene/personal care needs are maintained to the highest standards while always maintaining the resident’s dignity.
- Assists residents with eating and drinking in line with their nutrition needs.
- Enable and assist resident to access and use toilet facilities, participating in individual continence promotion programmes.
- Contribute to the movement and treatment of resident to maximise their physical comfort.
- Promote mobility of resident, supervising and assisting as necessary to ensure resident retains optimum mobility.
Qualifications and Skills
- QQI/FETAC Level 5 qualification in healthcare or relative experience in a similar environment.
- Practical experience in a caring capacity desired.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Have a good level of the English language.
- Availability to work varied shift patterns days, nights & weekends, across Monday to Sunday and be obliging to cover any sick leave.
