About the Role
Extreme Balconies is seeking an experienced and motivated Factory Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our manufacturing facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role that will involve working on the factory floor alongside the production team, while also carrying out office-based duties including production planning, scheduling, reporting and coordination with other departments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. They will oversee factory operations, manage production staff and work closely with our design, commercial and project teams to ensure products are manufactured and delivered on time.
We are looking for someone with a strong fabrication background who can lead by example and help drive the continued growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the factory
- Lead and support the production team
- Work hands-on alongside the team when required
- Plan and manage production schedules
- Ensure high standards of quality, productivity and efficiency
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
- Coordinate with design, procurement and project teams
- Manage materials, equipment and factory resources
- Resolve production issues and drive continuous improvement
- Monitor factory performance and support staff development
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years' fabrication experience
- Previous experience running or managing a fabrication or manufacturing facility
- Experience within structural steel, steel fabrication, construction or offsite manufacturing
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example
- Good understanding of production planning and manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills
- Competent Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of factory operations
Working Arrangements
This is a full-time, site-based position.
The role combines hands-on factory work with office-based responsibilities and requires someone who is equally comfortable managing production on the shop floor as they are planning and coordinating operations.
