Community Employment Childcare Position
This is a Community Employment (CE) childcare position based within South West Wexford Family Resource Centre / Súgradh Childcare Centre. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day care and development of young children in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.
The role includes participation in all aspects of the childcare service, including supporting children’s learning and development, assisting with daily activities, maintaining a safe and hygienic environment, working collaboratively with staff, and building positive relationships with parents and guardians.
As part of the Community Employment programme, the successful applicant will be required to participate in training and professional development. This includes working towards a recognised Major Award in Childcare, which will be fully funded as part of the position. Ongoing support, supervision, and opportunities for learning will be provided throughout employment.
Key Duties Include:
- Supporting the daily operation of the childcare setting in line with policies and procedures.
- Creating a positive and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to reach their full potential.
- Assisting with planning, preparing, and supervising age-appropriate activities and play opportunities.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic childcare environment.
- Supporting positive behaviour management through clear and age-appropriate boundaries.
- Liaising with parents/guardians in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Assisting with attendance records and childcare documentation.
- Participating in training, meetings, and supervision sessions.
- Administering First Aid when necessary in consultation with the Room Leader.
- Maintaining confidentiality and complying with all relevant regulations and childcare policies.

Contract length: 12 months
