Guest House Manager, Summer Seasonal Position

About the Role
We are seeking a reliable, organised and personable individual to manage the day-to-day operations of a newly renovated city centre guest house during the busy summer tourism season.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the on-site running of the guest house throughout May, June, July and August 2027.
The property has capacity for up to 54 guests and will operate as a modern, fully cashless accommodation business. Guest bookings will primarily be received through Booking.com and other online accommodation platforms.
The owners will continue to manage the financial accounts, bookkeeping and incoming payments. The Guest House Manager's role will focus primarily on guest management, bookings and the smooth day-to-day operation of the property.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the guest house and ensure the property runs efficiently and professionally.
- Manage reservations received through Booking.com and other online booking platforms.
- Monitor upcoming arrivals, departures and room availability.
- Coordinate guest check-ins and check-outs.
- Communicate with guests before, during and following their stay where required.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest questions, requests and concerns.
- Ensure a high standard of customer service is maintained at all times.
- Coordinate room turnaround and cleaning requirements between guest stays.
- Liaise with cleaning staff and ensure bedrooms and common areas are prepared for incoming guests.
- Carry out regular checks of bedrooms, hallways and communal areas to ensure standards are maintained.
- Report maintenance issues, damage or operational concerns to the owners promptly.
- Assist in resolving minor day-to-day operational issues.
- Monitor guest conduct and ensure house rules and property policies are followed.
- Maintain accurate booking and guest records.
- Support the owners in maintaining positive guest reviews and a high standard of guest experience.
- Provide regular updates to the owners regarding occupancy, guest matters and the general operation of the property.
Financial and Payment Responsibilities
The guest house will operate on a fully cashless basis.
The owners will remain responsible for bookkeeping, financial accounts and the management of incoming payments.
The Guest House Manager will not be expected to manage cash or carry out the financial accounting of the business. However, they may be required to assist with booking administration and communicate any payment or booking issues to the owners.
On-Site Accommodation
On-site accommodation will be provided for the Guest House Manager for the duration of the seasonal management period.
The accommodation will allow the manager to be based at the property and provide an on-site management presence throughout the busy summer tourism season.

- Able to work independently and make sensible day-to-day operational decisions.
- Calm and professional when dealing with guest concerns or unexpected situations.
- Flexible and available during the busy summer tourism period.
- Capable of coordinating staff, cleaning schedules and room turnovers.
- Focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation and customer service.
Previous experience in hospitality, guest accommodation, hotel management, property management or customer service would be an advantage.
Working Period
The position will operate during the summer tourism season for the months of:
May, June, July and August 2027.

Additional Information
This is an opportunity to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a newly renovated city centre guest house during its peak tourism season.
The owners will remain actively involved in the business and will manage the financial and administrative side of the operation. The Guest House Manager will act as the primary on-site point of contact and will play an important role in ensuring guests receive a professional, welcoming and well-managed accommodation experience.
Pay: €36,229.38-€41,000.00 per year
