Woodfire & Wings is a growing Irish restaurant and takeaway group. We are looking for a reliable van driver to run our daily midday delivery, collecting our products and getting them out to our four locations so the kitchens are stocked and ready before service.
This is a straightforward job with a clear start and finish. If you want steady, guaranteed hours that leave your afternoons and evenings free, this could suit you well.
What the job involves
- Collecting stock and product from our supplier and central point each day
- Checking off what you collect against the delivery docket
- Driving to our four restaurant locations around Dublin
- Loading and unloading the van yourself at each stop
- Bringing stock into the kitchens and stores, and putting chilled and frozen items straight away where they belong
- Keeping the van clean, tidy and in good order, and reporting any issue with it straight away
- Following our food safety and temperature control procedures, including keeping the chilled load at the right temperature and completing the checks
- Letting the managers know about any shortages, damages or delays
Being straight with you about the job
We would rather tell you now than on day one.
- This is physical work. You will be lifting and carrying crates, boxes, and catering packs on your own, in and out of the van, several times a day.
- The window is tight. Kitchens need their stock before service, so the run has to be done properly and on time, every day you are rostered.
- You will be working on your own for most of the shift, so you need to be able to get on with it without someone standing over you.
- You will be out in whatever weather Dublin decides to give you.
What we are looking for
- Full, clean Irish or EU driving licence (Category B)
- Aged 23 or over. Our motor insurance policy will not cover a driver under this age on a company vehicle, so we are unfortunately not able to consider applicants below it
- Physically fit enough for regular lifting and carrying
- Good timekeeping. This is the part of the job that matters most to us
- Careful, sensible driver who takes pride in how they handle a company vehicle
- Enough English to deal with managers, suppliers and paperwork
- Right to work in Ireland
- Previous multi drop, delivery or catering experience is welcome but not essential. We will train you in on the run and on our food safety procedures
What we offer
- €15.50 per hour
- Fixed, predictable days and hours. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, roughly 11.30am to 3.00pm or 3.30pm
- Finished by mid afternoon, with no late nights
- Staff meal on shift and staff discount across the group
- Van, fuel card provided
- Full training on the route, the paperwork and food safety
- A steady role in a growing Irish company where the same face doing the run every day is genuinely valued
How to apply
Apply through Indeed with a short note about your driving experience and your licence. We will come back to shortlisted applicants quickly and interviews are informal, usually at one of our restaurants.
