Social Enterprise Café Coordinator – Part-Time-The Bluestack Special Needs Foundation CLG
The Bluestack Foundation is seeking two part-time Social Enterprise Café Coordinators to support the day-to-day operation of our social enterprise café and the training and development of adults with additional needs.
The successful candidates will work as part of the team to ensure the café operates safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing meaningful training and work experience opportunities for our trainees.
Key Responsibilities
Social Enterprise Café & Food Preparation
- Support the daily running of the café as a Social Enterprise, including food preparation, baking, cooking, coffee preparation, serving customers and maintaining high standards of presentation.
- Assist with stock management, ordering and minimising food waste.
- The Social Enterprise Café Coordinator will report to the Manager and will contribute to relevant records, training documentation, HACCP, stock records and other reporting requirements as required.
Training & Development
- Provide practical, hands-on training and support to trainees in areas including food preparation, customer service, coffee making, cash handling, teamwork and workplace skills.
- Encourage trainees to develop confidence, independence and skills for progression towards employment. Provide patient, respectful and person-centred support to adults with additional needs within the café environment.
HACCP, Hygiene & Health and Safety
- Ensure all food safety, HACCP, hygiene and health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain appropriate cleaning, temperature, food storage and food safety records.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in catering, food preparation, café or a similar environment.
- Experience working as part of a team, with good communication and customer service skills.
- Good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP requirements.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative.
- A genuine commitment to supporting people with additional needs.
Desirable
- Experience working in a social enterprise, café or community setting.
- Experience supporting or training people with additional needs working towards employment or greater independence.
Community Services Programme / Pobal Requirements
This position is supported through the Community Services Programme (CSP), funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and administered by Pobal, and is subject to the relevant CSP eligibility and funding requirements.
A person occupying a CSP-supported position cannot simultaneously hold a Tús, Gateway, Community Employment (CE), RSS or Jobs Initiative placement.
CSP funding cannot be used to employ an individual once they reach their 66th birthday.
CSP-funded hours are intended to provide a consistent pattern of employment and are not intended to be used solely on a seasonal or low-hours basis unless agreed with Pobal.
The Foundation will seek to consolidate CSP-funded working hours across a minimum of four days per week, where operationally appropriate and in line with Pobal requirements. Employment and continuation of the position are subject to the availability of CSP funding.

Contract: Subject to CSP funding and the terms of the Community Services Programme
