The Role.
GMC are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of ESB infrastructure projects across Dublin and the surrounding counties.
As Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the planning, execution, commercial performance, and successful delivery of multiple ESB projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong client relationships.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering electrical utility infrastructure projects, including High Voltage (HV), Medium Voltage (MV), and Electric Vehicle (EV) infrastructure works.
Experience managing ESB Networks projects and navigating ESB approval processes is highly desirable.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of multiple ESB infrastructure projects from inception through to completion.
Manage projects involving HV, MV, LV, and EV infrastructure works.
Develop and manage project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with ESB Networks standards and company procedures.
Liaise with ESB Networks, local authorities, subcontractors and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate project teams including engineers, site agents and commercial personnel.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Drive programme performance while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
Oversee procurement activities and subcontractor management.
Ensure robust commercial management, including cost control, forecasting, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Support tender reviews, project planning, and value engineering initiatives.
Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and governance requirements are maintained.
Promote a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture across all projects.
Build and maintain long-term client relationships while identifying opportunities for future work.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
Minimum 8-10 years' experience managing utility or civil engineering projects.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Proven experience delivering ESB Networks projects.
Strong experience managing HV, MV, LV, and EV infrastructure projects.
Excellent understanding of ESB Networks standards, procedures, and specifications.
Experience obtaining and managing ESB approvals is highly desirable.
Strong commercial and contractual management experience.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
Strong programme planning and risk management capabilities.
Full clean driving licence.
