Comer Group Ireland is seeking an organised and detail-focused Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12-week fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the preparation and processing of weekly/monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy.

Maintain payroll records by entering and updating employee information, including new starters, leavers, contract changes, pay rates, deductions, tax credits, and personal details.

Assist in reviewing payroll data to ensure all information is complete and accurate prior to processing.

Support the preparation of electronic payroll payments and payroll reports.

Reconcile payroll information and assist in resolving payroll discrepancies.

Respond to employee payroll-related queries in a professional and confidential manner, escalating issues where appropriate.

Maintain accurate payroll files and ensure all payroll information is handled in accordance with data protection and confidentiality requirements.

Assist with the completion of statutory documentation, including Maternity, Paternity, Parent's, and other Social Welfare forms.

Prepare salary certificates, and other payroll-related documentation as requested.

Maintain employee information on the HRIS and Time & Attendance systems, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.

Liaise with the HR Department regarding employee changes that impact payroll.

Support month-end payroll reconciliations and provide payroll information to the Finance team as required.

Assist with maintaining payroll procedures and documentation to support consistent payroll processes.

Ensure compliance with Revenue, employment legislation, and company payroll policies.

Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain payroll and accounts knowledge.

Support the wider Finance team and undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience:

Previous experience in payroll, accounts, finance administration, or a similar role.

Knowledge of payroll software packages such as Sage Payroll or similar systems.

Experience using HRIS and Time & Attendance systems is desirable.

Strong attention to detail with excellent numerical accuracy.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
