Part-Qualified Accountant
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare year-end financial statements and supporting working papers to review stage.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including VAT, payroll, leases, hire purchase agreements, and fixed assets.
- Apply accounting principles accurately and post journals using accounting software.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards and agreed deadlines.
- Follow established procedures, checklists, and quality control processes.
- Support year-end close processes, including the preparation and posting of year-end journals.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.
- Liaise directly with clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Assist senior team members with ad hoc projects and special assignments.
Candidate Profile
- Part-qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Results-driven with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work in a hands-on role.
- Professional communication and client relationship skills.
- Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as within a team.
Technical Skills
Experience with:
- Accounts production software
- Corporation tax software
- Cloud-based accounting platforms
- General ledger and bookkeeping systems
- Microsoft Excel (intermediate to advanced level preferred)
- Microsoft Office applications
Experience across a variety of accounting software packages would be advantageous.
