Warehouse & Logistics Manager – Wholesale Distribution
Location: County Mayo Salary: Competitive salary depending on experience. Hours -Full-time
We are a successful and growing Irish wholesale distribution business supplying customers throughout the west. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are seeking an experienced and driven Warehouse & Logistics Manager to take ownership of our warehouse and distribution operation.
This is a key role within the business for someone who is organised, reliable and commercially minded, with the ability to manage a busy warehouse environment, lead a team and ensure our customers continue to receive the highest level of service.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the warehouse and logistics operation, ensuring that all orders are picked accurately, deliveries are prepared on time and the warehouse operates efficiently.
This role would suit an experienced warehouse professional who wants to take responsibility, make improvements and play an important role in the continued growth and development of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full ownership and responsibility for the daily running of the warehouse and logistics operation.
- Lead, manage and motivate the warehouse team to achieve high standards of performance, accuracy and efficiency.
- Plan daily workloads to ensure all customer orders are picked, checked, loaded and dispatched on time.
- Manage delivery schedules and coordinate with drivers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain accurate stock control, stock rotation and minimise picking errors.
- Manage goods-in, supplier deliveries and warehouse organisation.
- Ensure the warehouse is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, organisation and safety.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and ways of working.
- Ensure company procedures and health and safety standards are maintained.
- Work closely with management, sales and customer service teams to support business growth.
- Build a positive team culture based on accountability, communication and high standards.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience managing or supervising a warehouse and logistics operation, ideally within FMCG, wholesale or distribution.
- Proven ability to manage a team and take ownership of daily operations.
- A hands-on leader who is willing to get involved and lead by example.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with stock management systems would be an advantage.
- Full clean driving licence required.
- Forklift licence desirable.
- Category C/CE truck licence would be a significant advantage.
