Hotel Killarney, a newly refurbished and award-winning 4-star hotel, is currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, motivated, and experiencedSenior Bartender to join our dynamic Food & Beverage team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering outstanding guest experiences at the bar.
The Role
As Senior Bartender, you will play a key role in the smooth day-to-day operation of our busy bar and restaurant outlets. You will be a hands-on leader behind the bar, ensuring excellent service standards, consistent drink quality, and a welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
You will support the Management team in driving performance, maintaining high standards, and assisting in the supervision and development of junior bar staff. This role suits someone who enjoys working on the floor, leading by example, and taking pride in creating memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced bar environment
- Lead by example during busy service periods and support junior bar staff
- Prepare and serve beverages to a consistently high standard
- Assist management in the day-to-day running of the bar
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety, and company policies
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of all bar areas
- Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements
- Assist with training, coaching, and motivating team members
- Handle guest queries and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Support the implementation of promotions, events, and special functions
- Promote teamwork, efficiency, and a positive working environment
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a senior bartender or supervisory role in a busy bar or hotel
- Strong knowledge of bar operations, cocktails, and beverage service standards
- Proven ability to lead, support, and motivate a team
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Strong attention to detail and high standards of presentation
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Bar or hospitality qualifications are an advantage
