Job Specification: Domestic Solar Installer

Job Purpose
We are seeking a hardworking and safety-conscious Domestic Solar Installer to join our growing renewable energy team. Reporting to the Lead Installer/Project Manager, you will be responsible for the physical installation of Solar PV mounting systems, panels, and associated hardware on residential homes, as well as supporting overall site operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Solar PV Installation: Safely access residential roofs and structures to layout, measure, and install structural brackets, rails, and solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to Irish Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations, utilizing scaffolding, edge protection, and Harness Fall Arrest systems when working at height.
Weatherproofing: Ensure all roof penetrations and installations are properly sealed and flashed to prevent structural leaks.
Component Assembly: Assemble DC optimizers, micro-inverters, and cable routing pathways prior to string connection.
Site Operations & Material Handling: Load and unload equipment safely, handle materials with care, and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace on customer properties.
Electrical Support: Assist electrical team members with basic DC cable runs, containment, and conduit placement from the array down to the inverter/battery location.
General Duties: Carry out any other reasonable duties and tasks as required by management to support the successful completion of residential solar projects.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in roofing, carpentry, construction, or solar installation.
Safety Certifications (Essential):
Valid Safe Pass card.
Working at Heights certification.
Manual Handling certificate.
Skills & Attributes:
High level of physical fitness and comfort working outdoors in varying Irish weather conditions.
Proficiency with power and hand tools.
Strong problem-solving skills when adapting to different roof types and layouts.
Professional, customer-facing attitude when working directly on homeowners' properties.
Driving Licence: Full clean manual driving licence (Category B) preferred.
