At The Darnley Lodge Hotel, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional guest experiences in every aspect of our service. We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Bartender to join our Food & Beverage team and play a key role in delivering outstanding service across our Darnley Lounge and Darnley Ballroom.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who has a strong background in bar and food service and is ready to take on a senior role within a busy hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional, friendly and professional service to all guests, ensuring a consistently high standard of customer care.
- Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks, with efficiency and attention to detail.
- Take food and beverage orders and provide attentive table service in the Darnley Lounge.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the bar during shifts, ensuring service standards are maintained.
- Support and guide junior members of the bar and Food & Beverage team, leading by example and assisting with training where required.
- Work closely with the Hotel Manager and Food & Beverage team to coordinate daily operations and ensure efficient service.
- Assist with functions, weddings, events and private parties held in the Darnley Ballroom.
- Operate tills accurately and responsibly, including cash handling and end-of-shift procedures.
- Assist with stock control, including monitoring stock levels, deliveries, rotation and maintaining appropriate bar stock.
- Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene and health & safety throughout the bar and service areas.
- Ensure the bar is fully prepared for service and appropriately closed down at the end of each shift.
- Handle guest queries and feedback professionally and discreetly, resolving issues where possible and escalating matters when necessary.
- Ensure hotel policies, procedures and licensing requirements are followed at all times.
- Maintain a positive and professional working environment and contribute to the overall success of the Food & Beverage team.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a senior bartender, bartender or supervisory hospitality role is essential.
- Strong knowledge of beverages, including cocktails, wines and spirits.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Confident in leading and supporting a team during busy service periods.
- Highly organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.
- Professional, approachable and guest-focused with a positive attitude.
- Good cash-handling and till experience.
- Experience in hotel bars, restaurants, weddings or functions would be an advantage.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
- A strong understanding of hygiene, health & safety and responsible alcohol service.
Pay: €14.15-€15.00 per hour
