Part-Time Position – Weekends, Bank Holidays & Summer Holiday Cover
The Garden Café at Johnstown Garden Centre is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and hard-working Café Assistant to join our team.
This role is primarily for weekends and Bank Holidays, with additional midweek shifts available throughout the summer to provide holiday cover. If you enjoy working in a busy customer-focused environment and take pride in delivering excellent service, we would love to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Café Assistant, you will play an important part in creating a warm and welcoming experience for every customer visiting The Garden Café. Working as part of a supportive team, you will help ensure our café operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and cleanliness.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating the till accurately and efficiently.
- Preparing and serving barista-style coffees and hot beverages.
- Providing friendly, professional and attentive customer service.
- Clearing and cleaning tables promptly to maintain a welcoming dining area.
- Assisting with food preparation and food service.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the café.
- Supporting colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
What We're Looking For
- Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.
- Flexibility to provide additional holiday cover during the summer months.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Previous experience in a café, catering or hospitality role (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Barista experience is desirable but not essential.
