Corcreggan Mill is seeking a practical, reliable and experienced individual to join our team on a part-time basis.
This is a hands-on role involving the day-to-day maintenance, upkeep and presentation of our buildings, grounds and facilities. We are looking for someone who is practical, proactive and capable of working on their own initiative. The successful candidate will be trusted to identify issues, prioritise work and maintain high standards across the site with minimal supervision.
Hours
- Typically, 3–4 mornings/afternoons per week
- Additional ad-hoc hours available during busy periods and for specific projects
- Flexible arrangements for the right candidate
- Occasional on-call support may be required
Key ResponsibilitiesSite Maintenance
- General site upkeep and maintenance
- General repairs and preventative maintenance
- Basic painting and decorating
- Minor plumbing, carpentry and DIY tasks
- Waste management and bin handling
- Carrying out routine inspections and resolving issues requiring attention
- Assisting with larger maintenance and improvement projects
Grounds & Facilities
- Lawn care, grass cutting and general grounds maintenance
- Strimming, weeding and hedge maintenance
- Helping to ensure the site remains safe, tidy and presented to a high standard at all times
About You
- Previous experience in construction, building maintenance, property maintenance, groundskeeping, landscaping, farming or a similar practical trade is essential
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- Trustworthy, dependable and highly self-motivated
- Practical with good problem-solving skills and common sense
- Comfortable turning your hand to a wide variety of tasks
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards and completing jobs properly
- Full driving licence required
This role would suit someone who enjoys varied work, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is looking for regular part-time hours with flexibility. It may particularly appeal to someone who is semi-retired, self-employed, or looking to supplement existing income with regular part-time work.
Pay
Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
The role may be offered on either an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the circumstances of the successful candidate.
A discretionary Christmas bonus may be available based on factors such as quality of work, reliability, initiative, contribution to the business and guest feedback.
