Padre Pio Nursing Home is a 49-bed, family-run Centre in Holycross, Co Tipperary.
We are now recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to join our team.
Full & part-time role available. Day and Night duty available.
We provide long-term and convalescent care to meet the needs of a range of Residents.
Responsibilities and duties will include but are not limited to:
- Deliver a high standard of person-centered care appropriate to the needs, wishes and requirements of each Resident.
- Support and assist residents in enabling them to fulfil their activities of daily living while ensuring that residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible.
- Develop relationships with Resident that ensure that all interactions are approached with dignity, respect, equality and incorporating choice.
- Promote, encourage and practice the ethos of person-centered care.
- Maintain resident’s dining rooms, living areas and bedrooms in a neat, presentable and hygienic state.
- Assist the management team during internal and external audits/inspections
- Assist Residents to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance, to include cleanliness and personal grooming and dressing.
- Maintain accurate records as deemed necessary and for accountability purposes
- Assist Residents with mealtimes
- Assist Residents with continence care where necessary.
- Support Residents during development programmes and activities
- Assist in the ongoing support of Residents and others significant to them by enabling
- Residents to maintain their interests, identity and well-being and maintaining contact with those who are significant to them.
Skills and Experience:
- Fetac Level 5 Certificate (completed or in process of completion)
- Previous working experience in care of the older person within a residential care home setting is desirable.
- Passionate about delivering outstanding care to older people and be a committed, patient and caring person with a sense of humour and a positive outlook on life.
