The Carpenter will be responsible for:
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other materials
- Constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures including frameworks, roofs, floors, doors, and windows
- Building concrete formwork and installing framing for residential and commercial projects
- Ensuring all work meets quality standards and complies with building codes and safety regulations
- Operating hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborating with other trades and construction team members on site
Qualifications:
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program, equivalent trade certification or proved experience.
Skills:
- Proficient in using carpentry hand tools and power tools
- Strong measuring, cutting, and assembly skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Knowledge:
- Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction standards
- Knowledge of different materials, methods, and tools used in carpentry
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of carpentry experience in residential or commercial construction
- Proven track record of quality workmanship
Additional Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- 39 Hours per week.
