We are looking for a part-time GAA Games Promotion Officer and Coach to promote Gaelic Football in primary schools in Dublin 8 and develop and grow our D8 TSS Academy.
We are a GAA club focused on Gaelic Football covering Dublin 6, 6W, 8 and 12. We have over 1,800 members and growing. Our purpose is to promote Gaelic games, culture and lifelong participation to boys and girls as a community-based, volunteer-led organisation which enriches lives and communities. We aim to ensure that our games and values enrich the lives of our members, families, and our community.
While recognising the principle that our club is primarily volunteer-led, we have a need for coaching and games promotion in our catchment Schools and as such an opportunity exists which offers an interested person an opportunity to work in GAA sports coaching and promotion, with the flexibility to fit in around existing work/life/home balance.
Role
· In the catchment Schools in D8, you will be required to run fun football sessions for children to develop their interest in Gaelic.
· Be responsible for the D8 TSS Academy every week as well drive and support football camps and Schools competitions as needed.
· Role can grow to include coaching new parents and other underage coaches.
The ideal person will
· Have experience of playing and/or coaching Gaelic Football to kids between the ages of 5-12, either in the club or outside the club.
· Have an interest/ability in encouraging and developing children in sport.
What does the role look like
· Part-time role during school hours mainly with flexibility in the hours (typically 4-7 h per week), so this can be combined with another job or other life commitments.
· Be responsible for the running of the D8 TSS Academy – currently run in Griffith Barack’s School on Friday evenings 6:30-7:30 pm.
· Support the TSS Childrens’ Camps that are run over Easter and Summer.
Training
· All training will be provided as needed.
· Our full-time Games Promotion Officer will provide mentoring.
Other details
· Own transport to travel between schools and carry gear (footballs) is needed.
· This role requires the successful candidate to be Garda vetted in compliance with the GAA policies on child protection and Garda vetting.
Hours and remuneration
· Flexible, up to 10 hours per week.
· €20-€25 per hour depending on experience.
Pay: €20.00-€25.00 per hour
