Full Time Greenkeeper/Course General Operative
A vacancy has arisen within this busy and thriving Club for a Greenkeeper/General Operative to support the Course Staff and attend to the grounds and clubhouse.
Main Purpose of Role
To carry out ground maintenance duties as directed, ensuring that the course is at all times presented in the best possible condition.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
· Cutting playing surfaces, moving markers, raking bunkers and carrying out turf refinement work to ensure that the course is at all times presented in the best possible condition.
· To operate grass cutting machinery safely and effectively, care and maintenance of machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to line manager according to Club policy and procedure.
· Undertake ad-hoc projects and assignments as required.
· Adherence to all Club policies and procedures.
· To work within the Health & Safety guidelines at all times.
· Participate in weekend working rota.
· Any other duties that may be required.
Professional requirements and Experience
· Experience with equipment associated with golf course maintenance.
· Excellent English written and verbal essential.
· Ideally have at least 6 months’ experience in a similar position.
· Good knowledge of golf course maintenance practices.
· Experience operating a range of golf course maintenance machinery.
· Spraying qualifications & Chainsaw certification would be advantageous but are not essential.
· A good understanding of health and safety practices.
· The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude.
· Strong attention to detail and high standards of course presentation.
· Good communication and time-management skills.
