Overall purpose of the role:
The Trade Counter salesperson is responsible for serving customers at the trade counter. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the collections and counter areas and stock replenishment in a variety of areas. Above all, this is a hands-on role with customer-facing and sales processing elements which will require flexibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the Company Values at all times.
- Ensuring all customers who present at the trade counter and collections areas are dealt with in a prompt and friendly manner.
- Packing orders for collection and occasionally for delivery.
- Proactively communicating with customers and sales staff of the progress of orders and ensuring outstanding collections are kept to a minimum.
- Ensuring that all sales and returns are processed on the K8 computer system in accordance with current processes and pricing.
- Replenishment of stock locations.
- Maintaining a high level of housekeeping of counter areas and “front of house”.
- Work with management and staff to foster an environment of continual improvement.
- Cycle counting in conjunction with the Stock Controller.
- Keep up to date with new products stocked in the store.
- To be sales and service focussed.
- Adhere to health, safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by Management.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a trade counter and/or a heating or plumbing role
- Strong housekeeping skills & appreciation of the importance of Health & Safety processes.
- Customer service-oriented attitude.
- Strong organisational & communication skills.
- Attention to detail & see tasks through to the end.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Computer Literacy, knowledge of Kerridge/K8 would also be an advantage.
- Professional level of English, both oral and written.
- The right to work and live in ROI on a permanent basis.
