Maintenance Engineer
Weatherglaze Windows are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our maintenance team at our premises in Gorey Co. Wexford.
- Operation, preventative/corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement of all types of mechanical and electrical facilities and utility equipment/plant, to achieve maximum availability and equipment reliability, in a regulated GMP manufacturing facility.
- Provide overall daily production support ensuring plant operations are maintained safely whilst ensuring personnel & product safety is maintained at all times.
- Performs & documents the scheduled preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activities to plant machinery, equipment, and other systems.
- Provision of technical support and troubleshooting on mechanical controls predominantly but also support automated controls, CPU based systems, electrical equipment, pneumatic, building services and general facilities engineering
- Help management to maintain the Plant within environmental and quality performance regulations.
- Perform audits and contribute to month-end activity closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.
- Work with the Senior Engineer to schedule regular maintenance activities and major repairs based on production needs, equipment condition and availability.
- Identify the maintenance hours per activity , ie Reactive Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance, Corrective Maintenance.
- Assist with the development of planned maintenance schedules.
· Qualification: Third level award in Engineering, Electrical or National trade electrical / Mechanical
· Experience: Strong knowledge and proven experience with mechanical and electronic systems associated with high volume manufacturing equipment.
Experience in the fenestration industry a distinct advantage, or experience in highly automated production lines. Working knowledge of and diagnostics experience with PLC’s is desired.
· Qualities: Very strong Team player, must have excellent communication skills with the engineering team, production staff and management.
Must possess very strong and systematic diagnostic skills, and robust documentation of records of works carried out. Strong IT skill a distinct advantage.
Must be able to move between mechanical , electrical and computer control configuration projects as needed to support operations.
Must be able to work with cross functional team on operational improvement projects, including lean and quality enhancement projects.
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC, SAP, TIS and AutoCAD and advantage.
