Role Overview: As a Computer Repair Technician at Creative IT, you’ll be at the heart of our repair operations, responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing a variety of hardware and software issues. This role requires an in-depth knowledge of computers, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage a repair queue effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Computer Repairs and Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair a wide range of issues with laptops and desktop computers, ensuring repairs are done to a high standard with a fast turnaround.
- Custom PC Builds: Build custom PCs to meet client specifications, recommending components and configurations that best suit their needs.
- Repair Management: Manage the computer repair queue, prioritize repairs, and meet service deadlines.
- Parts Ordering and Inventory: Order parts as needed for repairs, maintain a stock of best-selling parts, and ensure repair inventory is well-managed.
- Quoting and Estimates: Provide accurate repair quotes in line with company policies.
- Customer Service: Communicate repair statuses to customers, offer advice on data backup and security, and ensure clients are well-informed about their repairs.
- MSP Support (Level 1): Assist with managed services by providing level 1 support for maintenance contract customers, including monitoring client equipment and performing proactive maintenance tasks.
- Smartphone and Tablet Repairs (Bonus): Experience with smartphone and tablet repairs is a plus.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in computer repair or a similar technical role.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience building and customizing PCs.
- Strong organizational skills to manage repair queues and inventory effectively.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to provide level 1 support for managed service clients and perform proactive maintenance tasks.
- Experience with smartphone and tablet repairs is a bonus.
