Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Internal Sales Engineer to join our dynamic Sales Department in Dublin 12. In this critical role, you will serve as the primary technical and commercial touchpoint for our customers. You will manage incoming technical enquiries, manage customer accounts, and drive revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Sales & Account Management
- Technical Support: Provide high-level technical advice and product troubleshooting to customers based on your engineering expertise.
- Enquiry Management: Efficiently handle incoming telephone and email enquiries, qualifying leads and converting them into sales opportunities.
- Quoting: Prepare accurate technical quotations using our internal systems.
- Account Development: Proactively manage and grow a portfolio of existing customer accounts, identifying cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.
- Order Tracking: Systematically maintain the company ERP platforms to track sales orders, purchase orders, and open quotes.
Collaboration & Operational Support
- Team Alignment: Work closely with external sales engineers to provide seamless pre-sales and post-sales technical backup.
- Supplier Liaison: Coordinate directly with global manufacturers and suppliers to source custom engineering solutions and coordinate lead times.
- Operational Agility: Assist with cross-functional duties as required.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of successful sales or account management experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or industrial distribution environment.
- Education: A formal qualification (Degree/Diploma/Apprenticeship) in Mechanical, Electrical, Agricultural Engineering, or a related technical discipline is highly advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a proven ability to close sales and protect profit margins.
- Technical Literacy: Ability to understand technical documentation, schematics, and mechanical concepts.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a professional phone manner.
- IT Proficiency: Strong organizational skills with hands-on experience using ERP systems (e.g. NAV, SAP).
