Newgrange Medical Dundalk is a new, patient-focused GP practice seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join our growing team to cover maternity leave.
This is a 4-day per week position, with strong potential to be offered a full time contract at the end of the maternity cover period.
The Role
You’ll play a central role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based care in a well-supported, forward-thinking primary care environment.
Core responsibilities include:
- Chronic Disease Management (Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, CVD, Hypertension)
- Phlebotomy, injections, and venepuncture
- Wound care and dressings
- ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, urine testing
- Childhood immunisations and adult vaccination programmes
- Cervical screening (CervicalCheck)
- Health screening
- Sexual health and contraception support
- Infection prevention and control (IPC)
- Clinical coding and accurate record keeping
- Participation in recall systems and preventative care programmes
What We’re Looking For
- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Previous GP / primary care experience preferable
- Strong knowledge of Chronic Disease Management programmes
- Experience with Socrates or similar GP software desirable
- Excellent clinical, organisational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Hours & Flexibility
- 4 days per week
- Standard hours: 09:00 – 18:00 (with lunch and breaks)
