Job Title: Relief Panel - Community Support Workers
Reporting to: Community Support Manager
Location: All Supported Living Services Residentials
Salary: €20.63 per hour for day shifts, Sleepover hours will be in line with minimum wage.
Premiums for Sundays, Public Holidays & Night hours are applicable.
Contract Type /Hours of Work: Relief Panel with Minimum guaranteed of 12 hours per
week / adhoc cover
Duration: 12 Months Fixed-Term
Purpose
Reach Deaf Services provides services to the Deaf Community, including a supported living
service, and a boarding campus for Deaf children attending the Holy Family School for the
Deaf.

development, ensuring they are well prepared to support individuals transitioning into their
new homes and communities.
Reach Deaf Services is currently seeking compassionate, motivated, and flexible individuals
to join our Relief Panel as Community Support Workers to provide support to the people who
live in their own homes in our community service. Our vision is to promote inclusion, equal
opportunities, and independence by empowering each person to shape and direct their own
future.
The successful candidates will provide person-centred support to Deaf and DeafBlind adults
living independently in the community. Relief staff play a vital role in ensuring continuity of
care and support during annual leave, sickness absence, and service demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals in all aspects of daily living in line with their personal goals,
abilities, interests and support plans.
- Promote independence, dignity, choice, and community inclusion.
- Support individuals with social, recreational, educational, and community activities.
- Assist with daily living tasks including meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, budgeting,
appointments, and household management.
- Maintain accurate records and complete documentation as required.
- Encourage strong positive relationships and work collaboratively with families,
multidisciplinary teams, and colleagues to deliver high-quality, individualized care and
support.
- Adhere to safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, and organisational policies
and procedures.
- Promote and respect Deaf culture and communication preferences at all times with
zero tolerance to abuse, safeguarding the rights and confidentiality of every person
- With full training, supporting individuals with prescribed medication and financial
management, always in line with policies and individual care plans.

Qualifications
- Minimum Level 5 in Social Care, Community Care, Disability Studies Applied Social
Studies, Health Care or appropriate equivalent
- Fluency in ISL signed language or willingness to complete the assigned ISL classes and
exams through the in-house ISL Tutor program (currently Levels 1 and 2) within the
assigned timeframe, or commitment to complete them as required.
Professional Knowledge
- Knowledge of supporting a person to transition from Residential settings to the
community.
- Knowledge of Residential Care legislation including HIQA’s National Standards for
Residential Service for Children and Adults with Disabilities, and others as
applicable
- Previous experience of safeguarding adults from Abuse
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of care for adults with disabilities
- Previous experience in supporting adults in a residential care setting or similar
environment
- Willingness to undertake further education or training to develop their skills in the
role.
