A progressive local supermarket group who operates a number of well-known Supermarkets across Connacht. The store is located on a great commuter belt, near a vibrant affluent seaside village, 35 mins drive from Oranmore and a 30 mins drive from Carnmore Cross. Fresh food is one of the key strengths of our client's store and they are seeking an experienced Deli Manager to lead and develop this busy department.
As Deli Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the department, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for customers while driving sales and profitability. You will lead and motivate your team to provide excellent service, maintain attractive food displays, manage stock levels effectively, and ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in deli, catering, fresh food, or food retail management, with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach. If you have a proven track record of managing people and maintaining high operational standards, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Responsibilities of Deli Department Manager Job
- Manage the daily running of the deli, including hot and cold food counters, salad bar, and ready-made meals.
- Lead and support a team of 3-6 staff, ensuring excellent customer service and smooth operations.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and reduce waste through effective stock management.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and food safety.
- Keep HACCP and food safety records up to date.
- Train, coach, and motivate team members to achieve their best performance.
Requirements for Deli Department Manager Job
- 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or assistant management role in fresh food or preferably deli.
- Strong knowledge of stock control and ordering fresh food products.
- Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate a team and create a positive working environment.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
