Post: 1 Fulltime Infant Family Project Worker.
An initial temporary fixed-term period to 31st December 2026.
The Infant Family Project Worker will work as part of a team to provide home-visiting and community-based family support to infants, young children and their caregivers. The team will deliver a range of evidence-informed interventions, including the Let’s Grow Together Home Visiting Programme, Peep Learning Together Programme and Circle of Security Parenting Programme.
The post holder will manage an assigned caseload and build trusting relationships with families using a strengths-based, trauma-informed and Infant Mental Health approach. They will provide individual and group-based support to strengthen parental capacity, promote positive parent-child relationships and improve outcomes for children through early intervention and prevention.
The role requires close collaboration with families, colleagues and partner agencies, together with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The successful candidate will contribute to programme delivery, service development, reflective practice, monitoring and evaluation activities.
Job Description
The Successful Candidate will:

- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary and interagency team.
- Maintain accurate records, manage an assigned caseload and contribute to service monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Represent the organisation professionally and contribute to the ongoing development of services and programmes.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to the role as required.

Qualifications, Training & Certifications
Applications are welcome from a wide range of disciplines. The ideal candidate will have a recognised validated Level 8 qualification in Early Childhood Studies, Social Care, Social Work, Nursing, Community Development or a related field.
Registration with the relevant professional body, where applicable.
Certified child protection and welfare training is desirable.
Endorsement or commitment toward endorsement within 1 year with the Irish Association of Infant Mental Health.
Certified completion of facilitator in early childhood evidence-based programmes, such as Circle of Security Parenting, Togetherness (formerly Solihull Approach), Peep Learning Together are an advantage.
Certificates of qualifications will be requested from the successful candidate post interview.
Experience and Knowledge
Essential:
Experience working directly with children, parents, caregivers and families in family support, community, health, social care or early intervention settings.
- Experience building and maintaining supportive relationships with families through home visiting, family support or related practice.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating parent, caregiver, child or family groups and creating safe, inclusive and engaging environments that support learning, reflection and peer connection.
- Experience working with families experiencing adversity, including parental mental health difficulties, domestic abuse, social isolation, poverty, family stress and other complex challenges.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and relationship-based approaches to supporting children and families.
- Knowledge of child development, infant mental health and the importance of early parent-child relationships.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities and a commitment to promoting the safety and welfare of children in line with Children’s First.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and interagency partners.
- Experience maintaining accurate records, managing a caseload and contributing to monitoring and evaluation processes.
Desirable:
- Experience delivering evidence-informed programmes such as Circle of Security Parenting, Peep Learning Together, Togetherness (formerly Solihull Approach) or home-visiting programmes.
- Knowledge of community resources and services available to support children and families.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have the skills to work from a strengths-based, relational approach with families and caregivers and possess established observation and assessment skills as well as;

· Ability to work effectively within family homes, providing flexible, relationship-based and individualised support that builds on family strengths.
· Strong group facilitation skills and confidence in delivering parent-child and parent-focused programmes.
· Ability to work in a trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive manner.
· Strong observation, assessment and reflective practice skills.
· Ability to recognise, respond to and appropriately report child protection and welfare concerns.
· Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, infants and young children, colleagues and interagency partners.
· Strong organisational, IT and report-writing skills.
· Ability to contribute to data collection, reporting and evaluation processes.
· Resourceful, creative and solution-focused in approach.
