About the Role
As a Data Centre Structural Engineer at Tate, operating within our Technical Team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organisation. Collaborating with diverse teams and providing structural support and analysis for all our product sets and data centre projects, you will also work closely with the R&D team to help drive innovations and advancements in the Data Centre industry.
The Data Centre Structural Engineer will play a pivotal role in the design and implementation of structural systems for our cutting-edge solutions. Working closely with our project teams, the successful candidate will ensure the structural integrity, safety, and reliability of critical infrastructure components to support our clients' mission-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct structural analysis and design for data centre projects including rack support systems and structural ceilings.
- Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate structural designs depending on client needs.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations and specifications in compliance with the Eurocode, Irish building codes and industry standards.

Perform site visits and inspections to assess existing structures and identify opportunities for improvement or retrofitting.

Utilise specialised software tools such as SCIA or Tekla Structures for modelling and analysis.

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, sustainability initiatives, and energy efficiency standards.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on structural design principles, materials selection, and construction methods.

Support project management activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination efforts to ensure successful project delivery.

Contribute to the design, development, and testing of new products and technologies.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering.
Experience:
2-3 years of experience in structural engineering.
Skills

Proficiency in structural analysis software and FEA design (e.g. SCIA, Tekla, IDEA StatiCa).

Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations and Eurocodes.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact. effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.

Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
