This is a full time position and not suitable for a student or similar.
The responsibilities of a Zoo Keeper/ Educator are varied but include animal care and maintenance, record keeping, educating members of the public and general zoo keeping tasks. The Zookeeper/Educator will also visit schools and other areas as part of our Zoo To You Programme, where they will educate the public outside of the Zoo.
Skills required are: public speaking, teamwork, record keeping, animal care, computer literacy, customer service and flexibility.
Previous experience working with animals and a relevant qualification in animal care, zoology, biology or similar desirable.
The successful candidate will work a 5 day working weeks. This will include weekends/bank hiolidays etc.
Candidates MUST HAVE A FULL UNRESTRICTED DRIVERS LICENSE (B) and must have English C-2 Master (fluent). Please do not apply for this position if you do not.
