Preschool Manager / Early Years Educator

Location: GAA Grounds, Airmount Road, Slieverue, Co. Kilkenny
Slieverue Community Playgroup & Afterschool Service is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and experienced Preschool Manager / Early Years Educator to join our team at the end of August 2026.
This is a hands-on leadership role within a small, community-based preschool. The successful candidate will work directly with children on a daily basis while also leading the preschool team and ensuring the service operates to the highest standards of care, education and compliance.
We are looking for a passionate early years professional who can provide a warm, nurturing environment for children while supporting staff, families and the wider community.
Essential Requirements
- QQI Level 6 in Early Learning and Care
- Experience working in an Early Years setting
- Strong knowledge of Aistear and Síolta
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to lead and support a team
- A genuine passion for supporting young children’s learning and development
Please note: Only candidates holding a QQI Level 6 in Early Learning and Care will be considered for this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the preschool
- Work directly with children and support their learning and development
- Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Plan and implement engaging activities in line with Aistear and Síolta
- Support, supervise and mentor staff members
- Build positive relationships with children, families and the local community
- Ensure compliance with Tusla regulations, ECCE requirements and service policies
- Maintain records, documentation and administrative duties associated with the role
- Promote high standards of care, education and safeguarding throughout the service
