We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our expanding commercial team based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with a strong background in commercial electrical projects who is looking to progress their career with a well-established and growing contractor.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical projects.
- Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings, and employer requirements.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities where required.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Identify project risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Prepare detailed tender submissions within required deadlines.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, project managers, and design teams throughout the tender process.
- Assist with handovers to project delivery teams following successful tenders.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of market rates, labour costs, and industry trends.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Estimator, preferably within the commercial construction sector.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical installations and building services.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple tender submissions.
- Full driving licence is essential.
Desirable Experience
- Experience pricing projects including:
- Office developments
- Healthcare facilities
- Educational buildings
- Retail developments
- Knowledge of Irish building regulations and electrical standards.
- Third-level qualification in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
