Lotus Care provides a range of respite, residential and support services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities in homely and comfortable community settings across the Midlands. We aim to empower the people we support with the skills to live full and satisfying lives as equal citizens of their local communities.
We currently have Social Care Worker/Social Care Assitant vacancies at several of our locations across the Midlands region, so we can work with you to find the setting that suits you best.
Role Overview
Location: Midlands, Ireland (multiple options available including Athlone, Tullamore, Borris-in-Ossory, Kildare, Portlaoise, Portarlington, Clonalsee, Mullingar, Roscommon)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Week: Average of 42 hours a week, day and waking night shifts required
Salary: €35,000 - €50,000 DOE
Reporting to: Person in Charge

The Role
Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence and personal development
Support daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance
Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals
Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication
Undertake Key Worker responsibilities, helping service users achieve their goals
Maintain accurate documentation and reports
Work closely with the MDT to support service users' goals
Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service users or visitors
Adhere to policies, procedures, standards, regulations and codes of practice
Essential Requirements
Minimum Level 5 qualification in Applied Social Studies, Social Care or a relevant discipline
Registered (or in the process of registering) with the Social Care Workers Registration Board, CORU - (SCW only)
Full, clean Irish driving licence
Prior experience in social care or healthcare desirable
Good working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
Excellent verbal and written English
Satisfactory Garda Vetting / Police Clearance
