Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant. Immediate Start
We are seeking an organised, detail-oriented, and reliable Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant to support our expanding childcare business across multiple locations. About the Role
As our Bookkeeper & Administrative Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both the financial and administrative functions of the business. You will work closely with management to ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of our centres while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all aspects of your work.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Reconcile bank accounts and statements.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Assist with payroll preparation and employee records.
- Prepare financial reports and support month-end processes.
- Liaise with accountants and external service providers.
- Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
Administration
- Provide administrative support to the management team across multiple childcare locations.
- Manage emails, correspondence, and filing systems.
- Assist with enrolment documentation and family accounts.
- Maintain staff records and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate office supplies and general administration.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and business documents.
- Support projects and other administrative duties as required.
The ideal candidate will be someone who:
- Has previous experience in bookkeeping and administration.
- Is highly organised with exceptional attention to detail.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Has experience with accounting software (such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks).
- Can work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Desirable but not essential
- Experience working in childcare, education, or another service-based industry.
- Knowledge of payroll processing.
- Familiar with Sage accounting and payroll package
- Understanding of compliance and record-keeping requirements.
- Certificate or qualification in bookkeeping, accounting, or business administration.
