Junior Siem Engineer:
What You’ll Do
We are looking for a Junior SIEM Engineer to join a Cyber Security team operating within a highly regulated enterprise environment.
This role focuses on the back-end management of Splunk SIEM, ensuring reliable log ingestion, normalization, and platform performance across critical systems.
Responsibilities include:
Support the administration of Splunk Enterprise (back-end)
Configure and manage Universal and Heavy Forwarders
Onboard and integrate new log sources (applications, infrastructure, security devices)
Perform log parsing and normalization (props.conf / transforms.conf)
Monitor ingestion pipelines and index performance
Support search creation, dashboards, and alert tuning
Troubleshoot ingestion, indexing, and parsing issues
Ensure integrity and availability of log data
Collaborate with SOC and IT teams for incident support
️ Technical Skills
1–3 years of experience in SIEM or log management roles
Hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise
Basic knowledge of Linux systems
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, syslog, firewall logs)
Familiarity with regular expressions (regex)
Basic scripting skills (Bash and/or Python)
Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving approach
Proficiency in Italian and English
Nice to Have:
Splunk certification (Core / Power User)
Experience in regulated or enterprise environments
Knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST or similar security frameworks
Exposure to cloud logging environments (AWS / Azure)
French Language
Where: Luxembourg, on-site presence required
