Kitchen / Catering Assistant ( Part-Time)

The post holder will be accountable to the Head Chef

Ailt an Oir Sheltered Housing, Glenageary, South County Dublin
Overview of the role
· To assist with the preparation of meals and snacks for the residents within the guidelines laid down by the Environmental Health Service (EHS) and Health Information.
Eligibility Criteria
· Qualifications & Experience
o Food Safety Training Level 1
o Previous experience of working in a professional kitchen.
o Working as part of a team.
Overview of the role - MUST HAVE HACCP AND FOOD SAFETY KNOLWEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
· Responsibilities
o Washing up of all items used in the kitchen area and maintaining cooking and storage areas in a clean and tidy state in line with cleaning schedules. Washing up pots and pans
o Carry out any general dining room duties i.e. laying, cleaning tables etc.
o Transporting meals to other specified locations as required.
o Simple preparation of food as required by the Chef.
o To undertake such other duties as may be determined from time to time within the general scope of the position.
o Attend training courses as required.
o Attendance at staff and department meetings.
o Raise any health and safety issues to the Head Chef promptly.
· Work Pattern
o Hours: Hours – 20 hours per week - day shifts. Five days over seven, will include weekends and bank/public holidays.
· Work Location
o You may be asked at one of our other locations on a temporary or permanent basis dependant on the needs of the organisation.
