Keegan Group is looking for a Concrete Batchman to join our team.
Keegan Group comprises Keegan Precast Ltd, Keegan Quarries Ltd, and Keegan Calcium Carbonate Ltd. We are a well-established, leading supplier of high-quality construction products throughout Ireland and the UK.
We are currently expanding our team at our plant in Ballycoolin, Co. Dublin.
Job Summary
The Concrete Batchman will perform a combination of duties at the concrete batching plant, including daily plant inspections, preventative and minor maintenance, loader operation, and operation of the concrete batching process. The successful candidate will also ensure accurate documentation of all incoming materials on a daily basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate the concrete batching process, ensuring the correct quantities and sizes of aggregates, as well as the appropriate proportions of cement, additives, and water, are used to produce concrete to specification.
- Ensure the quality and quantity of raw materials meet established standards.
- Follow established procedures to identify and correct any deficiencies in plant operations.
- Liaise with the Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure products meet customer specifications.
- Ensure assigned performance indicators are achieved.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the plant and surrounding work areas.
- Follow company procedures to ensure the plant remains compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.
- Carry out ongoing minor maintenance and visual inspections of plant equipment.
- Communicate with the Plant Supervisor and other supervisory personnel to resolve operational issues, provide timely feedback, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the workplace.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on plant premises.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous construction experience is essential.
- Ability to meet or exceed company safety standards.
- Basic knowledge of concrete production and materials.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, basic computer applications, internet use, and general computer skills.
- Working knowledge of plant maintenance procedures.
