Golden Bake is a proudly Irish-owned food manufacturer based in Coolock, Dublin 17. For nearly 40 years, we’ve been producing high-quality, ready-to-bake products for customers across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and beyond.
Our manufacturing and head office boasts a state-of-the-art production facility where we produce at scale, supplying major retail and foodservice customers. That side of the business is well established — built on consistency, quality, and doing things properly.
We’re now bringing that same approach directly to the customer through our own retail offering. Our on-the-go stores are designed to be simple, fast, and product-led — giving people easy access to fresh, ready-to-eat options.
What We Need Help With
We’re opening and operating a small-format, on-the-go retail store and we’re looking for a hands-on Store Manager to run it day-to-day.
This is a fast-paced convenience setup focused on fresh, ready-to-eat products. You’ll be responsible for the full operation — leading a small team, managing stock and standards, and making sure the store runs properly across a 7-day week.
Responsibilities
- Own the store end-to-end — standards, sales, team, and overall performance
- Keep the store sharp, stocked, and ready to trade at all times, especially during peak periods
- Manage product flow from delivery to shelf — availability high, waste low, nothing sitting too long
- Set the pace on the shop floor — visible, hands-on, and driving standards every day
- Lead a small team and make sure everyone knows what good looks like
- Build rosters that work for a 7-day operation
- Train and coach the team in a practical way
- Spot issues early (performance, standards, stock, people) and deal with them before they grow
- Keep things simple for customers — welcoming, fast, easy, no friction from order to checkout
- Handle customer queries and issues
- Take ownership of sales — know what’s selling, what’s not, and adjust quickly
- Control the basics tightly — waste, stock accuracy, cash handling, and daily reporting
- Make sure all food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards are met without fail
- Use merchandising and product placement to drive impulse purchases and maximise basket spend
- Create and manage the store’s social media presence — keeping content regular, product-focused, and relevant to drive footfall and local awareness
- Capture simple, real content (products, offers, in-store moments) that reflects the brand and what’s actually happening day-to-day
- Keep on top of store presentation inside and out — clean, organised, and consistent
Requirements
- Experience managing a retail, convenience, or food-led store (you’ve owned the day-to-day, not just supported it)
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-paced environment where you’re constantly on the floor
- Strong experiences of managing stock, waste, rosters, cash, and standards
- Able to lead people in a direct, practical way with clear expectations
- Organised and able to stay on top of multiple moving parts without things slipping
- Commercially aware — you understand what drives sales and act on it
- Confident making decisions and taking ownership when things need to be fixed
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
- Experience in grab-and-go, forecourt, coffee, or high-turnover retail environments
- Exposure to social media for business — comfortable creating simple, relevant content
- Experience opening, setting up, or improving a retail operation
- Basic reporting or KPI tracking experience
