The Role.
GMC are currently seeking Apprentice Quantity Surveyors to join our team.
The successful Apprentice Quantity Surveyors will be supporting the delivery of projects while learning on the job and studying one day per week at ATU Sligo (online lectures).
This apprenticeship programme provides a comprehensive blend of on-the-job and off-the-job training, mentorship, and the opportunity to earn while you learn.
On completion of this four-year apprenticeship, you will become a fully qualified Quantity Surveying Associate, with an NFQ Level 8 Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Quantity Surveying.
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Assisting the Quantity Surveying team to manage subcontract packages and overseeing payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants along with day-to-day QS duties.

Assisting the Quantity Surveying team in the preparation of monthly internal valuations and monthly cost reports.

Reporting on budgets and variations.

Maintaining subcontractor and supplier contractual details.

Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience.
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:

Full clean driver's license desirable but not essential

Confident, motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to work under pressure and use initiative

Time management abilities to meet targets within GMC and the study/assessment requirements of ATU.

Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.

Maths, numerical and data analysis skills
- Strong attention to detail

Good computer skills
