MSC provides critical supplies to the clinical, life science and pharmaceutical industries in Ireland. Support and maintenance is offered on all equipment sold. Due to continued expansion, MSC have an exciting opportunity for a Field Service Engineer with a strong background in installing, maintaining and support clinical diagnostic analysers.
The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning and follow up support and service for clinical diagnostic analysers located throughout the island of Ireland. As a result, willingness to travel will be critical. There will also be a requirement, on occasion, for overnight stays.
This is a field-based role, generally operating during normal business hours. Some flexibility may be required from time to time to support customer needs, including occasional work outside standard hours or participation in an on-call rota for urgent breakdown support. Any such arrangements will be agreed in advance and managed in line with business requirements.
Responsible for providing on-site service of laboratory equipment repairing / routine preventive maintenance service in Ireland and N Ireland
Installation, maintenance, testing and repairing equipment
Troubleshoot minor software problems, upgrade firmware
Provide training to customers
Ensure product and service quality achievement
Build and maintain relationships with our customers
Promote and grow the service business of MSC
Cooperation with MSC Sales Team to identify and progress opportunity for the sale of new equipment
Essential: Full clean EU driving licence
Essential: NFQ Level 6 Qualification in mechanical engineering / electrical engineering / biomedical engineering / mechatronic engineering / HVAC or similar
Desirable: Experience as a field service engineer
Desirable: Experience with clinical diagnostics instruments in Irish clinical market
Current passport and willingness to travel abroad for product training
Excellent IT skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and manage own workload
