Swim Teacher – Job Specification
Mount Errigal Hotel Leisure Centre
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Swim Teacher to join our Leisure Centre team and deliver swimming lessons to children of various ages and abilities.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, enjoyable and engaging swimming lessons, helping children build their confidence in the water and develop their swimming skills.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver swimming lessons to children across a range of ages and abilities.
- Plan and deliver lessons appropriate to each group's ability level.
- Create a fun, positive and encouraging environment for all participants.
- Monitor swimmers' progress and provide feedback where required.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of all children during lessons.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
- Communicate professionally with parents, guardians and Leisure Centre staff.
- Assist with the smooth running and organisation of the swimming lesson programme.
Requirements
- Recognised Swim Teacher qualification.
- Previous experience teaching swimming is desirable.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Confident working with children and different ability levels.
- Reliable, professional and enthusiastic.
- Good understanding of pool safety and safeguarding procedures.
- Flexibility to work weekday afternoons/evenings.
Hours
Swimming lessons are scheduled Monday to Friday, primarily during after-school hours. Hours can be discussed depending on availability.
