Role Overview
Odin Ireland is the European branch of a London-based FCA regulated alternative investment management firm. Odin Ireland is expected to get its EU AIFM licence approved in S2 2026 and manage quantitative strategies for professional clients through Cayman funds and managed accounts.
We are seeking a Risk Manager to join a small, high‑calibre quantitative hedge fund team trading listed instruments and derivatives. The role is based in Dublin and will work closely with the Senior Portfolio Manager locally, while reporting functionally to the COO / Chief Risk Officer based in London.
This is a hands‑on role suited to someone with 2-5 years experience in risk management or portfolio analysis who is comfortable working with data, models, and systems, and who wants direct exposure to risk management in an active trading environment.
The Risk Manager will support the identification, monitoring, and reporting of market, liquidity and operational risks across the trading business. Profiles with an ability to cover model risk will be favourably considered.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Liquidity Risk Monitoring
- Monitor live market and liquidity risks across portfolios trading listed instruments and derivatives
- Track exposures, sensitivities, leverage, margin usage, and liquidity metrics
- Develop queries and reports for ad-hoc analysis and regulatory reporting
- Support intraday and end‑of‑day risk oversight in coordination with the Portfolio Manager
- Assist with definition and maintenance of risk limits and escalation processes
Scenario Analysis & Stress Testing
- Develop and maintain scenario analysis and stress tests for portfolios and strategies
- Support historical, parametric and adverse stress scenarios, considering liquidity conditions
Risk Reporting & Performance Analysis
- Produce regular risk and performance reports for internal management, and regulatory risk reporting
- Assist with risk attribution, drawdown analysis, and exposure decomposition for client requests
- Automate and enhance reporting where possible using Python or other tools
Operational & Model Risk
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of the operational risk framework
- Support identification and documentation of key operational and process risks
- Assist in assessing model assumptions, limitations, and implementation risks
- Help review data quality, controls, and model dependencies
- Assist with validation of risk tools, scripts, and calculations
- Support coordination between risk, trading, and technology where needed
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or another scientific/quantitative discipline
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in risk management, quantitative financial analysis, or a related role
- Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data
- Working knowledge of financial markets
Technical Skills
- Python programming experience required
- Experience working with financial or market data
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and basic modelling concepts
- Knowledge of derivative products, margining, and liquidity mechanics
- C++ knowledge an advantage, but not required
- Exposure to model risk, data validation, or quantitative strategy analysis (valued but not required)

- Detail‑oriented with a strong sense of control and accountability
- Comfortable working in a small, hands‑on team
- Able to communicate clearly with trading and senior management
Curious, proactive, and keen to develop deeper risk and markets expertise
Pay: €40,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
