Job Summary:
The IT Support Administrator will support the delivery of day-to-day IT services across the business. Reporting to the IT & Systems Support Manager, this role provides first-line technical support to approximately 185 users, while assisting with IT systems, security, and development initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent IT graduate or someone at the beginning of their IT career to gain hands-on experience across technical support, Microsoft 365, business systems, cyber security and the Microsoft Power Platform within a busy manufacturing environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide first-line technical support to end users across the business
- Log, track, and resolve issues, escalating where appropriate
- Assist with troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues
- Set up and configure user devices (desktops, laptops, mobile devices)
- Support user onboarding and offboarding (account setup, access permissions, equipment)
- Assist with routine system administration tasks (e.g., user account management, password resets)
- Support maintenance of Microsoft 365
- Help monitor IT systems and report issues to the IT Manager
- Maintain IT documentation and asset records
- Follow IT security policies and support basic security tasks (e.g., applying updates, access control)
- Supporting and maintaining printers, including HP LaserJet and Zebra label printers
- Support user awareness around IT security best practices
- Assist the IT Manager with Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
- Support small IT projects and system improvements
- Help identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Work with different departments to resolve IT issues
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential
· Degree, Higher Diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
· Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
· Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
· Good communication and customer service skills.
· Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Full, clean driving licence.
Desirable
· Placement, internship or part-time experience in an IT support environment.
· Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate).
· Basic understanding of networking concepts.
· Familiarity with Active Directory.
· Awareness of cyber security principles.
Experience with VoIP telephone systems.
