Title: Process Development Engineer

The Process Development Engineer will provide hands-on engineering support to the machine assembly team, with a strong focus on process improvement, cost reduction, and manufacturing efficiency. The role will play a key part in driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting machine build activities across the Haeger EU and Global business units.
The ideal candidate will have 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, with proven ability to identify inefficiencies, implement improvements, and contribute to cost-saving initiatives. Experience in machine building or production line development is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
- Provide engineering support to the machine assembly team, troubleshooting production issues and implementing timely solutions to maintain production flow
- Maintain and update ERP system (JDE), including:
-Bills of Materials
- Routers
-Product Masters
- Review and recommend updates to mechanical drawings and process documentation
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Support purchasing with technical input on existing and new vendors
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety standards
Process Improvement and Manufacturing:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on efficiency gains and cost reduction opportunities
- Identify and implement process improvements across assembly and manufacturing operations
- Apply Lean principles to optimize workflows and eliminate waste
- Support implementation of best practices to ensure consistent product quality
- Collaborate with quality teams to ensure processes meet required standards
- Support machine build and assembly activities, including troubleshooting and optimization
- Contribute to production line development and improvements
- Assist in design, quoting, and creation of manufacturing prints for tooling
- Work closely with global engineering teams on machine issues and design updates
Project and Quality Support:
- Manage documentation, presentations, and records for engineering projects
- Participate in problem-solving teams and root cause analysis
- Resolve recurring manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions
- Assist with final validation and quality checks of completed machines

Key Requirements:
- Minimum level 7 Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Process improvement initiatives
- Driving cost savings in manufacturing
- Experience in machine building, equipment assembly, or production line development (highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of Lean principles (Six Sigma Green Belt an advantage)
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably JD Edwards)
- Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, ProE, Autodesk Inventor, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems beneficial)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel as required
