We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our construction team on a residential development project in East Cork.
Responsibilities
Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations and company procedures.
Manage setting-out operations and provide accurate engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure constructability and compliance.
Collaborate with design consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
Coordinate design development and oversee the preparation and approval of workshop drawings and technical submissions.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, site staff, and subcontractors.
Monitor construction progress and ensure works are completed according to project schedules and quality requirements.
Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
Plan and organize site activities to achieve project milestones and productivity targets.
Attend project meetings and maintain effective communication with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, and documentation of meetings and technical discussions.
Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and company standards.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce rework, and support project profitability.
Assist with budget control and resource planning to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in civil engineering or construction projects, preferably within residential developments.
Strong knowledge of roadworks, drainage systems, earthworks, utilities, pavement construction, and traffic management.
Proficiency in engineering and project management software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Project.
Experience with site setting-out and surveying equipment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-management abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment and manage multiple priorities.
Pay: €52,994.64-€82,958.83 per year
