We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our senior management team and support the continued delivery and development of high-quality care across the service.
The Role
Working closely with the Director of Nursing, the ADON will play a key role in the day-to-day clinical management, leadership and governance of the nursing home.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and support to our nursing and healthcare teams, promote excellent clinical practice and help ensure the service continues to meet all regulatory and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing in the day-to-day clinical management of the home.
- Provide strong leadership, guidance and support to nursing and healthcare teams.
- Ensure consistently high standards of safe, person-centred resident care.
- Support compliance with HIQA regulations, National Standards and relevant legislation.
- Oversee care planning, clinical documentation, risk management and resident outcomes.
- Lead and support clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives and action plans.
- Support staff supervision, performance management, training and development.
- Assist with staffing and roster management in line with resident and operational requirements.
- Participate in clinical governance and senior management meetings.
- Support the implementation and review of policies and procedures.
- Deputise for the Director of Nursing when required.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be registered with NMBI as a Registered General Nurse.
- Have a minimum of 3 years' experience at Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) level OR previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing.
- Hold a QQI qualification in Leadership and Management, or an equivalent recognised management qualification.
- Have significant experience within the nursing home/older persons care sector.
- Have a strong working knowledge of HIQA regulations, National Standards and clinical governance.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, people-management and decision-making skills.
- Have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to resident safety, dignity and quality of care.
Position Details
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 39 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE)
Location: Clearbrook Nursing Home, Finglas, Dublin 11
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
