Job Title: Operations Support Specialist

DPD Ireland leads the field in next day parcel delivery throughout Ireland, with 37 regionally based collection and delivery depots and a state of the art central sorting hub in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.
Purpose of the role:
The Operations Support Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of the Pickup and Out-of-Home (OOH) Parcel network. This position is part of a collaborative team dedicated to maintaining network excellence, expanding the locker infrastructure, and fostering strong relationships with host partners to provide a world-class customer experience.
As this role is central to the physical expansion of our service including site installations and relocations a proactive willingness to travel to various network locations is required to ensure project success and operational continuity.
Job Responsibilities:
Network Management & Compliance
- Resolve customer and consignee queries efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor network performance data and enforce operational standards to ensure that all locations meet DPD’s service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Identify bottlenecks in the parcel lifecycle and implement solutions to maintain a high-functioning OOH network.
Host Relationship Management
- Support the identification and acquisition of new host locations to expand the network footprint.
- Deliver comprehensive training and onboarding sessions for staff at OOH locations, ensuring they are confident in using DPD systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day operational issues at host sites.
Infrastructure & Logistics
- Coordinate the end-to-end installation process for new locker locations, including site surveys and technical setup.
- Manage and execute the relocation or decommissioning of existing OOH locations as required by business needs.
- Assisting with the physical movement and installation of locker hardware, ensuring all equipment is handled safely and positioned for optimal accessibility.

Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a customer facing role.
Experience Preferred:
- Prior experience in logistics, parcel networks, or field operations is a distinct advantage.
Qualifications Required:
- Full clean driver’s license
Qualifications Preferred:
- Certifications in business, logistics, or IT are preferred.
- A genuine enthusiasm for continuous learning and professional development to keep pace with the rapidly evolving logistics landscape.
Skills Required:
- Highly comfortable working with new technology, handheld devices and specialised software.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, from corporate hosts to individual customers.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot hardware or process issues under pressure.
- Excellent administrative and operational skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
