We are looking for a motivated Building Surveyor & Sales Technician who can combine strong technical surveying skills with commercial awareness and a proactive approach to sales and business development.
The successful candidate will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of the building services sector.
- Experience or strong capability in property surveying, site assessments and pricing works.
- The ability to accurately price site works and private projects.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- The ability to identify, develop and convert new business opportunities.
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- A full clean driving licence and the ability to travel to customer sites.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in building surveying and/or sales.
- Experience in a technical sales or business development environment.
- Familiarity with SEAI grants.
- Experience working within a quality-controlled or standards-driven environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a Building Surveyor & Sales Technician to support management, maintain quality across site works and help drive continued business growth.
This is a varied role combining technical surveying, project coordination, pricing, customer engagement and sales. You will be responsible for assessing properties and site requirements, preparing accurate reports and quotations, coordinating with operational teams and subcontractors, while also developing new business opportunities and maximising the conversion of incoming leads.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring work is priced accurately, delivered to a high standard and followed through from initial enquiry to completion.
Key ResponsibilitiesSurveying & Technical
- Conduct thorough property and site surveys.
- Assess project requirements and identify appropriate solutions.
- Prepare accurate and detailed survey reports.
- Price site works and private projects accurately and competitively.
- Ensure pricing reflects the scope of works, materials, labour and relevant project requirements.
- Maintain high standards of quality control across site work.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards.
Sales & Business Development
- Manage and follow up leads provided by the office team from website enquiries, telephone enquiries and other sources.
- Respond promptly to enquiries to maximise sales opportunities and conversion rates.
- Identify opportunities to generate additional business from existing and prospective customers.
- Develop new business opportunities and contribute to the company's growth strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, enquiries, follow-ups and sales activity using applicable company systems and tools.
- Attend customer meetings and site visits as required.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations for sales, advertising and marketing campaigns.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers and other stakeholders.
Project & Workflow Coordination
- Coordinate workflow and monitor delegated tasks to ensure work progresses efficiently.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on project progress.
- Liaise with subcontractors and operations teams to coordinate works, resources and timelines.
- Communicate project requirements clearly to relevant teams.
- Attend weekly management and sales meetings and report on progress, leads, opportunities and completed work.
- Identify potential issues affecting project delivery and communicate them promptly to management.
Quality & Compliance
- Follow all company policies, procedures and quality management systems.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with relevant ISO and NSAI standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Support the company's commitment to quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a professional image when representing the company, including compliance with the required dress code.
About You
We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, technically capable and driven to succeed.
You will be a confident communicator who can move comfortably between surveying a property, preparing a quotation, speaking with a customer, coordinating with subcontractors and identifying the next sales opportunity.
You should be:

Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Previous experience as a Building Surveyor, Surveyor, Sales Technician or Technical Sales professional.
- Experience in sales, estimating or business development within the building services sector.
- Knowledge of SEAI grants and associated requirements.
- Experience working with ISO/NSAI quality standards.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors or site-based works.
